This website is dedicated to reviewing books by local Southeast Texas (SETX) authors. Our mission is to support and spotlight regional talent by offering honest, thoughtful reviews and promoting their literary work to the community.

Who can submit a review?

Any author who currently resides in or has strong ties to Southeast Texas is welcome to submit their book for consideration.

What type of books do you review?

We review all genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, young adult, and children’s literature. However, we do reserve the right to decline books that do not align with our content guidelines.

How do I submit my book for review?

Authors can submit their books through the Google Form and the Contact section on the AmandaReads page.

Is there a fee for submitting a book?

No, our book reviews are free of charge. Our goal is to support local authors.

How are books selected for review?

We aim to review as many submissions as possible, but selection depends on availability.

How long does it take to receive a review?

Review times can vary depending on demand. On average, authors can expect a response or review within 4–8 weeks of submission. Updates will be sent out via email.

Will every book submitted be reviewed?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee reviews for every book submitted. If a book is not selected, it may still be featured on the website and the recommended reading list.

Can authors share or repost their review?

Yes! We encourage authors to share their reviews on social media, websites, and marketing materials. Please credit our website and include a link back when possible.

Can readers submit book reviews too?

Absolutely! We welcome guest reviews from community members who want to share their thoughts on books by SETX authors. Submit your review through our Contact page.
